Policy – Administration of Medicines to Learners Policy

The administering of medicine by any Educator or person not licence to do so is not allowed. However, in some cases if a child do has a chronic illness or condition the Parents must make arrangements with the school to which procedures need to be followed if medicines need to be administered.

The attachment wil provide some guidelines to schools on which is the best practice to follow. After drafting your own policy, submit it to your District Office for validation that it is in line with the SASA, Education Act and the Constitution.
