Amendment of section 8 of Act 26 of 2000 

Section 8 of the principal Act is hereby amended

(a) by the substitution for subsection (1) of the following subsection: ‘‘(1) Any disclosure made in good faith to— 

(a) the Public Protector; 

(aA) the South African Human Rights Commission; 

(aB) the Commission for Gender Equality; 

(aC) the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities; 

(aD) the Public Service Commission; 

(b) the Auditor-General; or 

(c) a person or body prescribed for purposes of this section; and in respect of which the employee or worker concerned reasonably believes that—’’; and 

(b) by the substitution for subsection (2) of the following subsection: ‘‘(2) A person or body referred to in, or prescribed in terms of, subsection (1) who is of the opinion that the matter would be more appropriately dealt with by another person or body referred to in, or prescribed in terms of, that subsection, must render such assistance to the employee or worker as is necessary to enable that employee or worker to comply with this section.’’.
